Children’s Garden

I love reading for nonprofit groups, recuperation and the Children’s Garden of the Jackson County Master Gardeners Association is one of the best. Annually, a group of dedicated volunteers lead by “Cricket” and “Patches” provide fun activities, gardener wisdom, and homegrown snacks to children ages 5-13 (two different age groups 5-8 and 8-13).

Today I had the honor of reading Well Earth Well Me! to the kids. We sang, we talked about the importance of trees and saving wildlife from litter and how lava can get really hot and turn to stone (this from a 5-year old who tried to bring the topic of lava into each discussion).

Readings are always a blast for me, and as usual, I walk away with great hope for our earth and future generations.
